Come see us at the Food Day Event on October 20th

On October 20th 2011, Pro-Use Produce will provide an array of dehydrated fruits and other preserved goods to those in attendance. Grown and harvested in Seattle by John, Aaron, Seattle homeowners, local organizations and City Fruit volunteers, we will support the launching of theFood Day Campaign hosted at Antioch University Seattle. Pro-Use Produce supports the work of the campaign in its efforts to “eat real and support healthy, affordable food grown in a sustainable, humane way.” Listed below is a description of the event.

Food Day Campaign Launched for October 24th!
Many of the most prominent voices for change in the food movement and a growing number of health, hunger, and sustainable agriculture groups today announced plans for Food Day – a nationwide campaign to change the way Americans eat and think about food. Organized by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, Food Day will encourage people around the country to sponsor or participate in activities that encourage Americans to “eat real” and support healthy, affordable food grown in a sustainable, humane way.
Building Momentum at Antioch University-Seattle!
It’s time to eat real America! Come celebrate and learn at Antioch University on October 20th!Panelists-will be guided with the attendants through a discussion about food justice and our local food system.
Come and say: I am endorsing the Food Day principles because I crave a food system that:
1. Reduces diet-related disease by promoting safe, healthy foods
2. Supports sustainable farms and limit subsidies to big agribusiness
3. Expands access to food and alleviate hunger
4. Protects the environment and animals by reforming factory farms
5. Promotes health by curbing junk-food marketing to kids

Local food provided at 5:30pm. Discussion following at 6:30pm. Closing at 8pm.
